Curing the Burning Mouth Syndrome

I had suffered from (BMS) for almost a year and was really mad because I could not eat my favorite spicy food any more along with salsa on my tacos (LOL). Oh well those days are gone after much research and seeing several good doctors.

I know how annoying this desease or infection what ever it may be is to anyone and I have searched the internet and have not seen a definitive answer as to how to cure it.

SO thats where I come in. The answer is BAKING SODA thats right BAKING SODA!

The last doctor I saw recommended me to rinse my mouth with 1/2 cup of water and add 1 1/2 tablespoons of baking soda mix and rinse. Rinse 3 times a day

Make sure you dont eat anything spicy or anything that will iritate your tongue or infected area for atleast a week.

When the pain from BMS has settled down a bit what you do is put a little bit of toothpaste on your toothbrush and then sprinkle BAKING SODA on top so it covers it then with your brush, brush all that BAKING SODA into infected area

If done properly and you take care for at least a week and doing rinsing & brushing 3 times a day you might have the same result as me, being able to enjoy spicy food once again, and aliviate yourself from the harsh pain of Burning Mouth Syndrome I hope this helps

My bottom lip has been burning for four months. I've been putting vaseline on it but it burns. What can I use to help it heal? the skin is very thin.

I suffered BMS for six months, in desparation one day I packed my top and lower lip with salt held in with wet cotton wool, held my hand over my mouth to secure, while I breathed thru my nose. For approx 5mins, lightly rinsed still leaving a salty residue. Repeated each day, along with brushing with salt on toothbrush - cured at last.
Now I still brush with salt twice a week as maintainence. Healthy teeth and gums.

I have had BMW for 2 years. Finally I have found a doctor who has done some research. She suggested trying lipoic acid 1 tablet x twice a day together with bio ceuticals ultra muscular forest berries. Both from local health food store. I've been taking them for 4 days and have noticed an improvement. I am also taking 1 tsp of baking soda in a cup of water twice a day to reduce the acidity in my body. I have had every blood test and tried so many things. Perhaps finally I will get some relief. Hope this helps someone. :)

I have been suffering with BMS for over two years now. Have tried bicarbonate of soda, sea-salt, fresh pineapple. Take pills for the saliva glands, as they were not working anymore. Had tests for allergies to see whether having had work done by orthodentist could have started this off - negative. These last days, the taste and feeling is unbearable - help. Where does one go from here? I understand that this syndrome only affects women !!!

I have had this terrible feeling for going on three months now. Doctor thought it could be Candida. Took meds for two weeks 4x a day. Did not work. She said that if it did not work she would have to refer me to a ENT. After all the blogs I have visited, many suffers received no relieve after test after test, more and more money. Today I am going to try the baking soda and ALA. Hope this works. Will do a F/U.

I have never been diagnosed with bms, but i do think i have it. It started about 2 years ago and since then i have had it off and on. I tend to have it for 4-6 weeks at a time. Does anybody know what causes it? I have tried brushing my teeth and tongue with the baking soda and i do get temporary relief.

BMS started for me this year with the diagnosis of an autoimmune disease called Sjogren's Syndrome. BMS can be caused by an oral neuropathy. Doctors look at me shocked when I bring this up to them. My lips, upper gums and throat burn, and it also radiates in my ear tubes. Depression, neurological issues, oral procedures, allergies, vitamin deficiencies, menopause...all can cause it from my research. I have tried R-Alpha Lipoic Acid which is supposed to be stronger than ALA alone. I can't believe there isn't a cure when it is obvious so many people are suffering. I will try this baking soda treatment in hopes that it will help. But I am going to see a neurologist about it and also am going to try medicine for the pain. Good luck!!

The baking soda helped a little with my BMS, unfortunately, it has destroyed the enamel on my teeth. My dentist told me that you must wait at least 30 - 60 minutes after you eat before you can rinse your mouth with baking soda. So please check with your dentist.

Have had BMS for 7 years cannot eat sugar carbs most fruits. Only drink water and no caf herb tea done all tests see dentist regularly use baking soda it helps will try the salt. Taking 1 mg xanax twice a day for pain . BMS started after taking antibiotic that left me with a horrible oral thrush Since no doctors can tell me what is wrong I believe the nerve endings have been damaged and the symptons can only be controlled. the only good thing is that on such a strict diet I dont have a weight problem

i used baking soda powder for teeth whitening for 5days in a row. and now it gave a terrible tongue burn and i cant even eat. it also gave me a horrible teeth gum sensitivity. i cant rush it now, it bleeds and hurts

This is the absolute worst thing imaginable. Mine started after keflex, sulfa, and doxycycline for a "so-called" tick bite.

I went to the doctor and dentist - no thrush. They couldn't find anything wrong as my mouth looked perfectly healthy.

My summer has been ruined. In fact, I felt so miserable on my 25th wedding anniversary, we never went out and celebrated. Very depressing.

Well, today, my husband called a friend of his who is a dentist. He knew all about it and said he and the local pharmacist have had success in recommending a Tabasco sauce rinse. Fill a cup with water and add enough Tabasco sauce so it's hot. I'm at my wits' end and will try anything.

So, if the baking soda doesn't work, here's another option.

I was haven herpes 2 on my private part. I have had them for about 2 and a bit years. I am so scared what my mates are going to says if there should fined out i have herpes on my private part and due to the virus my girlfriend broke up with me. Hello, everyone! I,m here to explore blogs and forum about the wonderful and most safe cure for HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS (HSV).
I was positive to the deadly virus called HERPES and i lost hope because i was out casted and rejected even by my closet friends.

Happiness is all i see now I never thought that I will be cured from HERPES virus again. I was haven herpes 2 on my private part. I have had them for about 2 and a bit years. I am so scared what my mates are going to says if there should fined out i have herpes on my private part and due to the virus my girlfriend broke up with me. I have been to the Doctors 9 times to get it treated. They all come back. I have been using Tee Tree Oil and Wartner (You freeze them at home) and they seem to be keeping the smaller herpes small but they can't seem to treat the larger ones. I was haven herpes 2 on my private part. I have had them for about 2 and a bit years. I am so scared what my mates are going to says if there should fined out i have herpes on my private part and due to the virus my girlfriend broke up with me. I have been to the Doctors 9 times to get it treated. They all come back. I have been using Tee Tree Oil and Wartner (You freeze them at home) and they seem to be keeping the smaller herpes small but they can't seem to treat the larger ones. They don't get any bigger, but then they can't shrink as much. They get smaller a little part at a time. At least they are getting smaller! As soon as I see a new herpes appearing, then I treat it. At the moment I have been using Tee Tree twice a week and then using Wartner every 2 weeks. I was wondering if there was any other information about how to get rid of it. I am only a teenager and I hate it most when it get pi-chins me to scratch it, it get sweets when scratching it most times! I want to get rid of it so bad! Hello my good friends please do not see this strange cause it my life story
about my healing, i was having herpes for good 6yrs. Things were not
working fine for me due to my health status i know longer have friends know
